Security Devices International's patent-pending LEKTROX Wireless Electric Projectile (WEP) line is being developed to deliver total operational success at distances up to 160 feet (50m).

While 2nd generation electric stun guns removed the need for direct physical contact between user and target, they still remain seriously limited because of the wires that connect them to their energy source and can get snarled around innocent bystanders.

LEKTROX WEP ammunition's built-in incapacitation technology frees users from the restrictions of cumbersome wires, enabling it to accurately reach targets at unprecedented distances.

Wireless Electro-Incapacitation
When the LEKTROX WEP comes into contact with the target, it releases the projectile's Multiple Mini-Harpoon mechanism. As the mini-harpoons fix the WEP to the target's clothing or body, the projectile's built-in electrical systems release a high voltage low energy pulse that imitates the electro-neural impulses used by the human body.

Whatever the target's pain tolerance or state – intoxication, drug induced or other - this pulse charge safely overrides their nervous system, immediately inducing a harmless muscle spasm that causes them to fall to the ground helpless.

Acceptable Safety Levels
LEKTROX WEP is being developed to release equivalent energy levels as the previous wired electric systems that have proven acceptable to national and international military and law enforcement agencies.

Operating at lower than critical cardio-fibrillation levels, the LEKTROX WEP's electric output has been designed in line with stringent medical equipment standards that protect patients from permanent injury. Enabling full recovery with no clinical after effects, LEKTROX helps decreases liability for wrongful injury or death.

Dual Blunt Impact Systems
The LEKTROX WEP is being designed with a unique dual collapsible head that absorbs part of the kinetic energy when the projectile comes into contact with the target. Additional energy is transferred from the point of impact and used to release the projectile's Multiple Mini-Harpoon mechanism.

LEKTROX WEP is being developed according to National Institute of Justice criteria intended to protect targets from serious injury from kinetic forces if engaged by projectiles fired from close range.

Safety First in All Stages of Usage
The LEKTROX Wireless Electric Projectile is totally safe in storage, transportation, handling and loading. Locked in safe mode until its internal electric and mechanical systems are activated by contact with the target, LEKTROX WEP eliminates any possibility of the projectile accidental charging.


LEKTROX Effective at Distance – Safe at Close Range

The LEKTROX Blunt Impact Projectile (BIP) is being developed by Security Devices International to achieve the highest operational success at distances exceeding 230 feet, while still ensuring target safety if hit from close range.
Designed to supersede previous blunt impact solutions such as foam, sponge, rubber bullet etc., SDI's Blunt Impact technology enables the projectile to meet the target with higher kinetic energy while meeting official military requirements.
In this way, LEKTROX projectiles will greatly enhance the field superiority of military personnel, law enforcement officers and other security operatives in situations that do not call for the use of lethal ammunition.
The innovative LEKTROX line of Blunt Impact ammunition exploits a number of existing and patent-pending technologies and other advanced engineering solutions.
To be produced first in 37/38 and 40mm versions with a 12 gauge variety coming later, LEKTROX Blunt Impact ammunition is expected to reach the market in 2008.

Utilizing accepted ballistic technologies, LEKTROX Blunt Impact ammunition will maintain excellent in-flight stability throughout an almost flat trajectory to achieve the highest available extended range accuracy. As a result, LEKTROX BIP will deliver accuracy levels that comply with US Army requirements.

Effective at Distance – Safe at Close Range
The product of extensive R&D, LEKTROX Blunt Impact ammunition carry SDI's unique kinetic energy absorption mechanism that overcomes the traditional dilemma of how to maintain the speed necessary for both maximum accuracy at distance and maximum effect upon impact -- while still ensuring the target's safety at close range.
To reduce the kinetic energy effect, the LEKTROX head is composed of a special material that collapses upon impact enlarging the contact surface and absorbing part of the kinetic energy. As a result, the LEKTROX will achieve greatest efficacy and provide the greatest freedom of action for military, law enforcement and other security forces.
The advanced LEKTROX projectile is known to meet the requirements of the National Institute of Justice (Law Enforcement and Correction Standards and Testing Program) for ballistic penetration criteria. These define a maximum depth of 44mm measured as the depression made in a backing material (based on NIJ Standard 0101.04). LEKTROX has been shown to meet these requirements at a variety of different ranges.
