Specializing in the development of next generation solutions for situations that do not require the use of lethal ammunition, SDI’s technological and engineering platform was established by Elad Engineering Ltd., Israel, assisted by: Dr. Yoav Paz, an award winning heart and chest surgery specialist at the Hadassah Medical Center, Jerusalem, member of the European Society of Cardiology; Emanuel Mendes, an electrical engineer at the forefront of Israel's R&D for almost 50 years; and Colonel William J. Lacey, Jr. (USA-Ret), a recognized expert in defense systems test and evaluation whose experience includes major Army weapons systems such as the 9mm Pistol, HMMVs, Bradley, and the M-1 Abrams Tank.
Elad leverages years of experience gathered in Israeli Aircraft Industries (IAI) and Israeli Military Industries (IMI). Its founders many accomplishments include the development of the Negev machine gun - currently deployed by the IDF – and the legendary Desert Eagle pistol on behalf of Israeli Military Industries, and other weapon stations, small, medium and heavy weapon systems, and a variety of special defense equipment.
LEKTROX Innovations
SDI's pioneering work has resulted in the patent pending LEKTROX family of extended range Wireless Electric Projectile and close range Blunt Impact Projectile solutions.
The LEKTROX Wireless Electric Projectile features an extended range capability and SDI's unique incapacitation technology. The Blunt Impact Projectile (BIP) incorporates an innovative collapsible head for kinetic energy mitigation that makes it highly effective even at very close range.
37/38mm & 40mm Calibers for Standard Riot Guns & Grenade Launchers
For easy adoption by the military, law enforcement and civilian markets, both the Wireless Electric Projectile and the Blunt Impact Projectile ammunition lines have been designed for production in 37/38mm and 40mm versions for use with standards issue riot guns (Federal, Milkor Stopper etc) and grenade launchers (M203, M79 etc). A 12-guage version for use with regular shotguns will be developed and made available later.
